Death - Henry* Hillis, on section 7, McGregor R. Road, six miles west of North McGregor, was found frozen to death on Tuesday last.
He was at North McGregor the evening before and left for home (some say) in a state of intoxication. He had waded Bloody Run waist high and when found he was guarded by his dog, the faithful animal for a long time prevented any one from coming to the body of his lifeless master.
The deceased is said to have left two daughters, one of whom kept house for him, the other is attending school at Garnavillo.
The above facts are reported to us.
