The subject of this sketch, Elzira Furr, was born near Fredricksburg, Stafford County, Va., July 27th, 1814. At the age of seven years she moved to Ohio, where on October 11th, 1835, she was united in marriage with Charles Cole. On Sunday, September 20th, 1896, at Whittemore, occurred the death of Mrs. Cole, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 23 days. Her remains were brought to Elkader on Tuesday and laid beside those of her husband. Rev. Fisk officiated at the services at the cemetery.

Goodenough, Mrs. Charles Thompson and Wesley Cole, of Whittemore, Iowa. Mrs. E. W.
