Elkader Register, Fri., 10 July 1896. McGregor column.
A telegram was received here Saturday announcing the death of Arthur Hatch at Lake Como, Col. He had been having an attack of pneumonia and is supposed that caused his death, but no particulars have been received. He was the oldest son of the late Judge L. O. Hatch, and for eight years was assistant cashier of our First National Bank until 1892, when he moved to Denver. He married in 1887, Miss Katherine Gilchrist, and she with three children are left to mourn his early taking away. Mr. J. N. Gilchrist left Saturday evening for the west and is expected to return with the remains for burial here.
(Note: WPA records indicate he is buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery.)
