DIED - At her home Thursday, June 5, 1896, Miss Maggie Lucy Meier, at the age of twenty years and eleven months. The young lady was born at her home near Garnavillo, and ever since lived there; and has a host of friends who now mourn her loss. Several weeks ago she was taken very sick, until Friday morning when death relieved her from all pain. The funeral took place from her home Monday, June 8. Rev. Sommerlad officiated. A large number of friends accompanied the remains to the grave. The stricken family has the sympathy of the community.
