Elkader Register, Fri., 7 Feb. 1896.
How little we know what day may bring forth, is exemplified in the sudden death of Mollie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Wareham. Apparently strong and hearty, just blooming into womanhood with a pleasant and joyous disposition, she is attacked with disease on Monday and Saturday afternoon her young life, the pride and hope of parents, is stilled forevermore. Language has no words to tell the sorrow of the distressed parents, and poor human sympathy while comforting, fails to ease the pain. But alas, it is the story of our life. Mollie was born in Read twp., July 7th, 1879, and died Feb. 1, 1896, in the 17th year of her age. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the East Side church, being conducted by Rev. F. L. Fisk, the building being filled by sympathizing friends of the family, and her schoolmates of the public school.
