Elkader Register, Fri., 22 Nov. 1895. Highland column.

On the 9th of November at the home of her son-in-law, F. K. Robbins, occurred the death of Mrs. Peters, aged ninety-five years and eleven months. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. MacCormack, of Fayette, and the remains were interred in the neighborhood cemetery. By the death of this noble lady Highland loses one of its oldest pioneers. During the last years of her life, she was bedridden and bore her affliction with beautiful Christian patience. Mrs. Peters had eight children, several of whom are dead, fifty-three grandchildren, one hundred and five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
