Elkader Register, Fri., 19 July 1895. Volga column.

Little Ernest, son of Mr. and Mrs. McConnell of this place, died last Thursday, July 11, aged 2 years, 6 months and 22 days, after an illness of several months. Though he will be missed by his family yet they are comforted with the thought that the little sufferer is with Jesus, where all is joy and happiness beyond the reach of pain. The funeral was held Friday at 10 a.m., the discourse being preached by Rev. Cooley, and the precious remains were laid in a flower-lined grave. The sympathy of all is with the sorrowing ones.
