Elkader Register, Thur., 14 June 1895. Locals columns.

Mrs. Alice R. Rulon, wife of Kelly Rulon; died at her home in Wood, on May 30th, aged 40 years, 1 month and 13 days. The funeral was held Sunday, June 2d, in a grove near the residence of J. P. Brookshier, nearly one thousand people being present to attest their respect for the departed whose Christian virtues had endeared her to the community.

(WPA records indicate Allie B. Rulon, 1855 - 30 May 1895, buried in Elk Creek cemetery.)
