On Sunday evening last another pioneer settler of the county passed away to the beyond. At her home in Elkader, after a short illness of inflammation of the bowels, Mrs. John Kelleher succumbed to the disease. She was born in County Clare, Ireland, about 1824, coming to America in 1848. She located in this county in 1855. In 1862 she married John Kelleher, who with six children, Patrick Roach, of Washington, D.C.; Michael, of Kossuth County; John, of Highland twp.; William and Mrs. Thos. Kelleher, of Elkader, and Mrs. G. W. McCarthy, of LeMars, still survive and mourn their great loss. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Fathers Reilly, Rowe, of Strawberry Point, and Maher, of Danbury, officiating. The sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved family.
