Elkader Register, Fri., 03 May 1895. Elkport column.
On Sunday morning occurred the death of John Stalmeier at the residence of his brother-in-law, Louis Menge. John has been suffering from a cancer and for the past year has not left his home. He was 34 years of age and was an honest and upright man, and was liked by all whom he was acquainted. The funeral took place Tuesday and was largely attended, Rev. Schaefer officiating. The bereaved family have our sympathy.
