Mrs. Carrie Lossing died at the hospital at Dubuque on April 6th. Her remains were brought to Clayton last Monday and taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Lossing, where after a short funeral service, conducted by Rev. Kellott, they were taken to the cemetery on the hill, where two of her children have been laid away. Mrs. Lossing had many warm friends here and all assembled to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed. Carrie Freeman was born at Cedar Falls in Sept. 1860. in her 16th year she united with the Methodist church, of which she was a devout member. She was married to Chas. Lossing in 1877 and was the mother of five children, of whom three daughters are left to mourn her loss.
