Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Mar. 1895.

Saturday morning, March 16th, Martin Losch, an old resident of this township, passed peacefully to his rest for this life. He was born in Rambourg, Luxenberg, Germany, in 1826, and came to America in 1853. After working at Pittsburg, Pa., for two years he came to Clayton County and settled in Boardman twp. In 1857 he married Louisa Klett, who survives him. Twelve children were born to them of whom nine are living, of these, three are married, John Losch, Mrs. Michael Cain and Mrs. Peter Miller.

The funeral was held on Monday at St. Joseph's church, Rev. Father Reilly performing the solemn services in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives of the departed, who came to pay their last respects to a good citizen, husband and father.
