Elkader Register, Thur., 31 Aug. 1893. Elkport column.

Fred Sherman, a grandson of Mrs. Amling, and a former resident of this place, died at Edgewood Sunday. His remains were brought here and buried in the Catholic graveyard, Rev. Father Dollard officiating. Fred was only 15 years and was a young man greatly respected for his many good qualities. His parents have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
