C. J. Engel funeral set for Monday

C. J. (Charlie) Engel, 86, retired farmer of Rockwell, died Saturday in a Mason City hospital. He had lived in the Rockwell community most of his life.

He was born Feb. 19, 1877, in Clayton Center, son of John and Sophie (Arndt) Engel.

Surviving are two sisters, Bertha Moorehead, Rockwell, and Sophie Dahlstrom, Waverly. There are also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Patterson-James-Murphy Chapel in Rockwell. The Rev. R. L. Lehmann, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Rockwell, will officiate.

Burial will be in Rockwell Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Murphy Chapel in Rockwell.
