Elkader Register, Thur., 22 June 1893. Elkport column.

One of our saddest duties this week is to chronicle the death of Mary Oehrle, wife of Christian Oehrle, aged 39 years. Cause of death, puerperal fever. Mrs. Oehrle was a most excellent woman, and leaves a husband and eight children to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate wife and mother. Our people sympathize with the afflicted husband and motherless children, one of which is only one week old. The funeral took place Tuesday and was very largely attended. Rev. Fuchs officiated.

Note: her maiden name is from the 1882 biography of Christian Oehrle. She has a gravestone in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery
