Elkader Register, Thur., 22 June 1893. Elkport column.
A horrible accident occurred at Updegraff last Thursday, in which a little boy was crushed to death. It seems that one of Alfred Darrow's boys was playing near the log pile at Beddow's saw mill when the logs rolled and rolled over the boy's head, smashing it into jelly and killing him instantly. The bereaved family have the sympathy in their sad affliction.
