Elkader Register, Thur. 30 Mar. 1893. Elkport column.

Daniel Samp, the father of Mrs. Peick and Mrs. John Schmidt, died at the residence of his daughter Mrs. Peick, Monday. He was 81 years of age and died of old age and general debility. The funeral took place Wednesday, the remains being taken to Littleport for interment. The bereaved family has the sympathy of all in their sad affliction. Rev. Fuchs officiated.
