Elkader Register, Thur., 23 March 1893.

Mrs. Callahan an inmate of the poor house, was buried in the Catholic cemetery on Monday. She was the widow of Michael Callahan, who died at Elkport some four years since. Although the unfortunate woman had some means and children, yet none would provide for her. It is quite likely that some will appear to claim what little property she leaves.
