Elkader Register, Thur., 06 Oct. 1894. Volga column.
On Tuesday morning, Sept. 25, occurred the death of James Revell at his home west of Volga, after an illness of four weeks with typhoid malaria. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon, and were conducted by Rev. Brush. A large number of sympathizing friends were present. He was born in Huntingtonshire, England, Feb. 2, 1850, and so was only 44 years of age at the time of his death. In company with his brother George and family he came to the United States n 1869 locating in Sperry twp., where he has ever since resided. He was converted under the ministry of Rev. C. C. Cressey, pastor of the M.E. church in 1877, and became a member of that church. Sept. 18, 1887, he was married to Miss Marion Weishadel, who with two little daghters, are left bereaved. Mr. Revell was a highly respected man, kind to his family and industrious. He leaves them in comfortable circumstances, with a good home, yet he will be so greatly missed by his loving wife and little ones. They have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their hour of sorrow.
