Elkader Register, Thur., 30 Aug. 1894. Strawberry Point column.
Last Saturday two young men by the name Miracle, living three and one half miles southeast of town on H. Harrington's farm, became intoxicated before going home. They seemed not to know the way home for instead of turning south, when found they had turned north. It is thought their horses became frightened and ran away, throwing them out. One of the men was so badly injured that he lived but a few hours. The funeral was held at the Catholic church on Monday, Father Rowe officiating.
