At the family residence at National on Monday last Daniel Brownson passed away after months of declining health. He was born in New York State on Nov. 26, 1813, and was in his 81st year at the time of his death. He came to Clayton County in 1846 and bought his farm in Farmersburg township. Here for years he engaged in farming and the importing and raising of blooded horses, being a leader in the business. In 1830 (or 1839) he married Asenath Tyler, to whom were born six children, two sons and four daughters. Of these, Truman, of Nebraska, Freeman, of National, and Mrs. Eugene Flanagan, of Storm Lake, Ia., with the aged wife and mother, survive. Deceased was a generous, good hearted man. honored and respected by his many friends.
The funeral took place on Tuesday at National.
