Elkader Register, Thur., 05 July 1894. Strawberry Point column.

Maggie Welsender, who lived seven miles southeast of this place died last Saturday at the age of 22. She had been subject to spasms since she was eight years old, which was the cause of her death. She had not been well for two or three days, and on Saturday morning went into the stable to pick up corn cobs and was found in the manger. Rev. Graf conducted the funeral services on Sunday.

Note: She shares a gravestone in Strawberry Point cemetery with her parents John & Teresa (Linder) WIESENDER. The stone likely was placed after Teresa's death in 1927 because Maggie's year of death is incorrectly engraved 1893, instead of 1894.
