Elkader Register, Thur., 19 Apr. 1894.

Mrs. N. H. Collar, recently of National, died April 10th, at the residence of H. J. Skinner, her son-in-law, at McGregor. She had been a resident of the county for fifty years.

Notes added by S. Ferrall:

- The death notice in the Elkader Register failed to give all of the information. From the 'McGregor News', Wednesday, April 11, 1894:
"Springview, Neb., March 31, 1894 - Mrs. N.H. Collar, late of National, died at the home of her son-in-law, H.J. Skinner, in this city yesterday and was interred in the Springview Cemetery to-day at 10 o'clock a.m. Hernia or rupture being the cause of death"

Mrs. Collar made her home in Clayton county for about 50 years, being one of its first settlers.
