Elkader Register, Thur., 1 Feb. 1894.

At their residence in Highland twp., on Jan. 26th, occurred the death of Caroline D., wife of Herman Lindenbauer, aged about 26 years. The young wife who has gone to an early death was Caroline Klinkenberg, of Read twp., and was married to Mr. Lindenbauer Jan. 31st, 1893. On Jan. 14th a babe was born to them, as a result of which the mother has given her life. The funeral of Mrs. L. was held at Clayton Centre on Sunday last by Rev. Seifert. On Sunday the child followed her mother to the golden shore, and the husband is left desolate, mourning for wife and child.
