Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Jan. 1894.

At the home of her parents in Wagner twp., on Thursday, Jan. 18th, after an illness of eleven days, Mary, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Losch departed this life. Having since a child been afflicted with heart disease, an attack of la grippe aggravated the trouble and the end came that cast a shadow of gloom over the hearts of her parents and friends. Mary was born Dec. 2_, 1877, and being about 16 years of age, had become the joy and light of the household, beloved by all. But the angel of death came with its warning that the joys of earth are perishable and our treasures must be laid up in Heaven. Earthly sympathy is comforting yet falls short, let us hope that he who does all things well may send his comforter.
