It is with sad feelings of regret that we perform the painful duty of announcing the death, at their home, on Friday, Jan. 19th, of pneumonia, of Mrs. Jane Peterson, wife of Charles Peterson and a daughter of James and Rachel McGuire. Deceased was about __ years of age, a woman beloved by all who knew her. She leaves a husband and an infant five months old, besides her mother and brothers and sisters. Two of her married sisters from Independence arrived in time to take the last sad look at their beloved one who had departed to join the father. The funeral services were held Sunday morning at the M.E. church, which was crowded to its utmost by the sorrowing friends of the family. Rev. Mr. Parkin conducted the services. The burial was made at Garnavillo, she being deposited by the side of her father, who preceded her to the other shore a few years since. The sympathy of all is with the bereaved family.
