A little over a week ago Mr. Patrick Lynch, of Rock Valley, Iowa, came to Elkader to visit his children who are at the Sister's school in this place. Patrick Henry Lynch was born in County Cork, Ireland, in (looks like 1854). He came to the United States in 1864 and located at Essex, Mass.,
where he resided for several years. About 24 years ago he came to Wisconsin, thence to Elkader. At this place he was married to Miss Maggie Hurley, after which he returned to Wisconsin and farmed for several years. Later he went to Rock Valley, where he went into the mercantile business. His wife died about two years ago, and he gave up his business, bringing his four children to Elkader and placing them in the Catholic school. His brother, Humphrey Lynch, arrived from Wisconsin before his death and was with him at the last hour. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in this place, Tuesday, after which the remains were taken to his former home at Mazomanie, Wisconsin, for burial beside those of his wife. Rev. Father Reilly accompanied the sorrowing brother and orphaned children to that place.
