DIED - At her home in Garnavillo on Saturday evening, Mrs. Rosina Walleser, wife of Mathias Walleser, at the advanced age of 74 years, 3 months and 3 days. Mrs. Walleser was born in Baden, Germany, July 29th, 1817. In 1845 she was married to her surviving husband with whom she lived in happiness for nearly 50 years. In 1846 they emigrated to this country, landing in Philadelphia, where they resided for nearly nine years. They then came west and took up their home in Garnavillo where they have lived ever since. A family of eight children, three sons and five daughters, survive her, all of whom have founded homes of their own. Mrs. Walleser was a lady who during her long career has experienced many of the vicisitudes of life, all of which she has borne with true Christian fortitude and patience. A true helpmate for her husband she worked early and late to amass that fortune which enabled her to give her children those manifold blessings which they now enjoy. A true Christian, she labored with zeal and energy to alleviate the sorrows and suffering humanity. Mother Walleser will long be remembered for her kind and cheerful disposition. Her remains were buried at the Catholic cemetery on Tuesday. Our sympathies are with the stricken family.
