Elkader Register, Thur., 24 Sept. 1891. Volga column.

Walter, the ten-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Gardner, died at his home about four miles from Volga, Friday, September 18th, 1891, after a protracted illness. His suffering was great but he was patient. The funeral services were held at the home, Monday, and were ably conducted by Mr. J. E. Smith, in the absence of the pastor, a goodly number of sympathizing friends being present. The remains were laid to rest in the Volga cemetery.
