Elkader Register, Thur., 03 Sept. 1891.

Our friends, Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Crary, of Read township, have met with a great and irreparable loss in the death of their eldest son, Oliver W. Crary, Jr., which sad event took place at Chicago on Thursday of last week. Deceased was born in Clayton county May 9th, 1866, and consequently was a little over 25 years of age at the time of his death. He suffered from an attack of la grippe, which developed consumption, and although he was given the best of medical treatment and the careful nursing of loving friends he was taken from earth. He was universally esteemed by those who knew him, and his death will be deeply mourned by his young friends. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of their numerous friends in their great sorrow.

The funeral occurred on Saturday last, and was largely attended. Rev. Perry, of Elkader, officiated.
