DIED - At McGregor, July 30th, after a long and painful illness, John A. McLaury, aged about 60 years.

The deceased was born at Rochester, N.Y., and removed west in early life. He was one of the "noblest works of God ... an honest man". He had resided at McGregor nearly two years and during that time the acquaintances he made were all warm friends. In our intercourse with him we never heard an unkind word of others in our intercourse with others we heard no unkind word of him.

He leaves a widow and several children to mourn a husband and a father; we sympathize with them in this bereavement.

The body of the deceased was taken to Platteville, Wisconsin, for burial.
