Jeanette Ann was born August 25, 1925 at Holy Cross, Iowa to Martin and Mary (Clemen) Gansemer. She was raised and educated in the area attending local schools.
Jeanette was united in marriage to John R. Nieland on April 22, 1947 at Dyersville, Iowa. Together they resided near Edgewood over the years. John died November 20, 1991.
After an extended illness, Jeanette died Friday night, April 10, 1992 at the Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. She was sixty-six years of age.
Jeanette was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include six daughters, Janice Firzlaff of Dubuque, Iowa; Mrs. David (Sheila) Roof of Petoskey, Michigan; Mrs. Kyle (Phyliss) Hagen of Accokeek, Maryland; Mrs. Rick (Debra) Osborn of Marshalltown, Iowa; Mrs. Kurt (Margie) Gerdner of Reedsport, Oregon; and Mrs. Jeff (Patty) Skiles of Waterloo, Iowa; two sons, Curtis and his wife Cindy of Port Republic, Maryland, and Bill and his wife Kristi of Santee, California; her mother Mary Gansemer of Dyersville, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mike (Mary Ann) Elliott of Bagdad, Arizona; and six brothers, Ralph Gansemer and his wife Lorrie of Hollywood, Florida; Joe Gansemer and his wife Kay and Marty Gansemer and his wife JoAnn both of Dubuque, Iowa; LaVern Gansemer and his wife Kay of Sussex, Wisconsin; Jerry Gansemer and his wife Phyllis of Dixon, Illinois; and Sylvester Gansemer and his wife Betty of Dyersville, Iowa.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, her father, two sons in infancy and a baby brother.
Mass of Resurrection was held on Monday, April 13, 1992, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Edgewood, Iowa. Celebrant was Rev. John J. Friederick.
