Elkader Register, Thur., 15 Mar. 1923.
Mrs. Albert L. Peterson died at her home in St. Olaf, Iowa, March 12th, 1923, at 5:45 o'clock p.m. from a stroke of apoplexy. About six weeks previous to her death she had a stroke from which she had rallied to some extent and it was hoped that she would fully recover. Such, however, was not the will of the Lord, and on the date above mentioned she was called to her heavenly home, where two of her children preceded her.
Mrs. Albert Peterson was born near Kongsberg, Norway, on Oct. 9, 1842, the daughter of Nels and Ingeborg Ellingson. In 1869 she was united in marriage with Albert L. Peterson by Rev. Ole Valdeland in the Norway Lutheran church in Wagner township, Clayton County, Iowa.
The following children were born to this union: Peter N. Peterson, of Wagner township; Martin I. Peterson of Ru_o, N.D.; (Adolph L., who died in infancy); Gust A., of Phelps, Wis.; Francis O., at home; Karoline Martie, Marion township; Luine Larson, of Boardman township; Alberline Bergan, Sawyer, N.D.; (Sophie Quam, North Dakota, deceased); and Johanna Juvik, of Wagner township.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17th, at 11:00 o'clock at the house and the remains will be laid to rest in the Norway Norwegian Lutheran cemetery of Wagner township. Rev. Nels Arveson and Rev. C. H. Franke will officiate. "May she rest in peace."
