Rachel Frances Baker was born January 30th, 1853 at Morgan Town, Pennsylvania, and died March 3rd, 1923, at the home of her daughter Mrs. E. W. Webster of Oelwein, Iowa, at the age of seventy years, one month and three days.
At the age of three months her parents brought her to Clayton County, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood.
In the year of 1882 she was united in marriage to Giles F. Bloodworth, who preceded her in death by five years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bell Garlow of Garber, Iowa, and Mrs. Gertrude Webster of Oelwein, Iowa. Also by one son, Morton H. Bloodworth of New Vienna, and by one brother, Samuel Baker, and one sister, Mrs. Virginia Beddow of Garber, Iowa. There are also several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
About thirty years ago she united with the Methodist Episcopal church and remained a faithful member until her death.
The services were held in the Bethel church on Monday, March 5th at 3:00 p.m., Rev. F. L. Brock officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Brock furnished the music. Interment was made in the Bethel cemetery.
