Louise Struckman was the youngest daughter of John and Louise Struckman, was born in Germany October 14, 1841, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hansel, Feb. 20, 1923, at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 6 days. When but a small child she was christened in the Lutheran church and has always been a faithful member. She came to America December 1877 and made her home in Chicago for 5 years. March 16th, 1883, at St. Sebald, she was united in marriage to August Riemath, where they resided seven years. She leaves to mourn her loss her grief-stricken husband and three children, Mrs. Mary Farmer of Elkader, Fred Reimath of Earlville, and Mrs. Emma Handel of Strawberry Point, and also 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services occurred Friday afternoon at the Lutheran church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Fritschel. Interment took place in the local cemetery.
