Re-scheduled services were held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday from St. Bridget Church, Postville for James B. Mackey, Luana, who died December 31, 1970 at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Services were changed from Monday due to the snow storm.
James. B. Mackey, son of Dominac and Laura Whitfield Mackey, was born April 21, 1913 at Uniontown, Kentucky and received his education in the Uniontown schools.
He was united in marriage April 5, 1953 to Hazel Hangartner. The couple had resided in Luana about a year, having moved there from Gary, Indiana. Mr. Mackey was a pipe fitter for U. S. Steel.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion in Postville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray. He is survived by his wife Hazel, five stepchildren, Merle Harris, Griffith, Indiana; Neal Harris, Hobart, Indiana; Lee Harris, Evansdale, Indiana; Dean Harris and Mrs. Iris Zebel both of Waterloo and eight grandchildren. Also two brothers, Earl of Louisville, Kentucky; Charles E., Griffith, Indiana and three sisters, Sister Frances Albert, Lucille Mulligan and Mary Ruth Weurth, all of Louisville, Kentucky.
Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
