Shierholtz, Henry Herman 1850 - 1918

Henry Herman Shierholtz was born on Sept. 12, 1850, in New Bremen, Ohio, and died on Dec. 15, 1918, aged 63 years, 3 months and 3 days.

In 1877 he came to Garnavillo where in 1879 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Shierholtz, Two children were born to this union, Emil, dying at the age of 2 1/2 years, and Andrew at the age of 7 weeks.

The deceased had always enjoyed health until last winter when he was sick for seven weeks with pneumonia. The end came quite suddenly on Sunday morning at 5 o'clock.

Besides his sorrowing wife his death is mourned by three brothers and four sisters all living in Ohio, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held in St. Paul's church on Tuesday, Rev. Braun officating.
