Henry Klink was born March 15, 1835, at Dutelsheim, Province of Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, and passed away at his home in Communia on Sunday, Dec. 08, 1918, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 23 days.
When a young man of 22 years Henry Klink came to this country, and after having worked for some time in St. Louis, Mo., came to Communia, Clayton County, Iowa, where he has lived ever since. Here he was united in marriage to Walberg Brandenberg, on Nov. 20, 1864. To this union eight children were born, three boys and five girls, Mrs. August Stahl, Osborne, Iowa; Louis Klink, Motor, Iowa; Mrs. Mike Tieden, Dodge Center, Minn.; Peter Klink, Communia; Mrs. Fred Greve, Blairsburg, Iowa; Mrs. Charles Hildebrandt, Littleport, Iowa; Henry Klink, Communia, and Mrs. Ed Birns, who died 7 years ago.
Deceased and wife made their home with their son Henry at Communia, where he received the best of care. His departure is mourned by his wife and children, 15 grandchildren and many old time friends and neighbors.
The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Rev. C. H. Franke pronouncing the oration. Burial took place in the Communia Cemetery.
