Miss Margaret Werges, daughter of Casper and Wilhelmina Werges, was born in Garnavillo township, July 24, 1856, and died on Aug. 21 at the Crosby home, where she has made her home for thirty-nine years.

For several years she has been a sufferer with cancer and the aid of the most noted physicians was sought but to no avail. In July she entered a sanitarium in Chicago, remaining there until Aug. 18.

Deceased is mourned by her aged mother, four brothers, Fred, Henry, William, and Ed and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schulte of Manly and Anna at home.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church Friday afternoon, Aug. 23, conducted by Rev. Braun, and interment was in the new cemetery.
