Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 06 June 1918.

Word was brought to Elkader Sunday of the death at McGregor of Michael Niemeyer. He had been in poor health for some weeks, but this fatal ending was hardly anticipated. The funeral was held at Prairie du Chien (Wis.) Wednesday morning, attended by members of his family from McGregor and Elkader, besides several old friends from this section. His wife, seven children, aged mother, three sisters and five brothers survive him, besides relatives and hosts of friends.
