Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 23 May 1918. Read column.
Mrs. Henry Lemke suddenly passed away at her home in Read township Tuesday morning, May 21, 1918. Heart failure was the cause of her death. She was fifty-four years of age and is survived by her husband and six children, the eldest daughter, Emma, preceding her in death in April of this year. Her demise has taken from our midst a good woman, held in esteem and high regard by all. The funeral services will be held from the home Friday. The recent death of a beloved member of the family, Mrs. Theo. Glawe, and now the sudden passing of the wife and mother has caused double grief to the sorrowing husband and children.
