Sally Jean Bell, age 90, of Garnavillo, IA, formerly of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Tower Living Center in Garnavillo, IA. Sally was born on March 22, 1931 to James and Margaret (Peggy) Brown in Phoenix, AZ.

She was the eldest of three children. On September 20, 1952, Sally was united in marriage to Harold Bell in Phoenix, AZ and this union bless the couple with 3 daughters, Susan, Cindy & Stephanie.

Sally was a housewife for many years. When the girls were married she started working at the department store Broadway which later was bought by Macy’s. Sally enjoyed being busy with many activities such as China painting, doll collecting, traveling, swimming, shopping and enjoying time with friends and family. She most enjoyed being in the company of her friends and family. Harold and Sally were first in fellowship with the Garfield Gospel Hall and then many years at the Sunnyslope Gospel Hall all of Phoenix, AZ. When Sally moved to Iowa she joined the Garnavillo Gospel Hall. Her faith was a very important part of her life and she cherished her friendships with those in her church family.

Sally will be missed by her family; daughters, Susan (James) Baker of Garnavillo, IA, Cynthia Richards of Phoenix, AZ & Stephanie (Tony) Frost of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren; Cheryl (Don)Wirkler, Nathan (Marianne) Baker, Andrea Baker, Emily Baker, Daniel (Karly) Baker, Ryan (Liz) Baker, Allison Baker, Tara (DJ) Capp, Tamara Richards, Derek (Sarah) Dever and 15 great grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents James and Margaret Brown; brothers, James Brown and David Brown; husband, Harold Bell and son-in-law, Joe Richards.

The family would like to thank Mary Eulberg and the staff at Tower Living Center for the love, care and compassion you gave mom/granny for all these years. Also, St. Croix Hospice staff for your compassion, friendship and excellent care you provided.
