DIED - At his residence in McGregor, on Thuesday, Dec. 17, in his 55th year, Dr. Geo. W.P. Harding.
Dr. Harding was born near Harper's Ferry, Virginia, on the 13th April, 1803. He became a resident of McGregor about a year ago, and during his short stay among us he made a friend of every acquaintance.
His medical qualifications were admitted to be of the first order, while his moral deportment and social intercourse rendered him an excellent citizen and avalued companion. His death resulted from the affection of the lungs of long standing; but within a few days preceding his death he was attending to his business with a fare share of health.
Our friend was remarkable for close attention to the duties of his profession, for great candor and simplicity of character, and for the possession of a large share of kindness towards all who surrounded him.
He leaves a widow and several young children to mourn his sudden decease. His remains were followed to the grave by the members of the Masonic Fraternity of which he was an honored member.
