Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 02 Aug. 1917.
The community was surprised on Saturday last to learn that William Keleher, one of Boardman's most prominent farmers, had passed away at his home that day. He had been sick, but no one felt that death was so near to him.
William Keleher, son of Thomas and Mary (Direen) Keleher, deceased, was born March 5th, 1861, on the old homestead in Boardman township, Clayton county, Iowa, and passed away Saturday, July 28th, aged 56 years, 4 months and 23 days. He died from the effects of an operation for hernia, to which he submitted on May 21st.
On Nov. 26, 1889, he was united in marriage to Mary Hover, who survives him, with three children, Florence M., Grace M., and Leo T.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Elkader, Rev. Father Campbell officiating, and interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
