Hanora Burns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Burns, was born in Ireland June 18th, 1828, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Michael Geraghty, on Pleasant Ridge, April 26th, 1917. Her husband, Charles O'Mally preceded her in death April 23, 1911. Their sons, James, Edward, Patrick and John after reaching maturity, passed into the Great Beyond. One daughter, Sabina, joined the Sisterhood. Honora died during young womanhood, Mary, Mrs. Welch, passed away also. Two daughters are living: Mrs. Bridget Larson, of Lawler, Iowa, and Katherine, Mrs. Michael Geraghty, of Pleasant Ridge, who has cared for the aged mother through the five years during which she was an invalid. Five years ago, during a stormy night, Mrs. O'Mally fell, breaking her hip. Since that time she never was able to sit up.
The funeral obsequies were held in the St. Patrick Catholic church in Monona Saturday morning, April 28th, Rev. Father McNamara saying mass. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.
