Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nieter, of Dubuque, Mrs. Wm. Ahlers, of Giard, Mrs. Kate Wulfenkuhl, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. John Hauschen, of Clayton, came Tuesday, called here by the death of Mrs. Anna Nieter. Her son Fred, of South Bend, Ind., came on Wednesday and John arrived Thursday morning.

Anna Adelheit Nieter, nee Kuenzel, was born in New Bremen, Ohio, on March 13th, 1850. In 1856 the family came to Garnavillo and on May __th, 1870, she was united in marriage to John Nieter. One daughter and seven sons blessed this union, one son, Harry, dying on July 14th, 1892. The father's death occurred on July 21st, 1909.
The deceased has been in poor health for the past three years. Everything was done to relieve her suffering but with no avail, death coming on the morning of April 10th.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Day, and six sons, Louis, Fred, John, Edward, Almore and Willis, eleven grandchildren, one brother, Adam Kuenzel, of Piqua, Ohio, and five sisters, Mrs. Ahlers, of Giard, Mrs. Hauschen, of Clayton, Mrs. Wulfekuhl, of Guttenberg, Minnie Kuenzel, of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Tonnar, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, and Mrs. Ousley, of Oberlin, N.D.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church Saturday afternoon, Rev. Braun officiating. Interment in the new cemetery.
