Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 29 Mar. 1917. Strawberry Point column.

Miss Dora Lee Marsh was born in Primghar, Iowa, December 30th, 1899, and died Tuesday morning at 6:00 o'clock at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Marsh. She came to Oelwein with her parents in 1909 and attended the school at Oelwein and later came here and attended our high school. Dora had been sick about a week and her passing was a shock to all. The ways of Providence are past finding out. In spite of the prayers of loved ones and the hopes and wishes of many friends, the death angel came to the home and took away a priceless treasure. Death is always a sad event in any household, but there are times when it is doubly so, and this is one of those cases. When friends and loved ones cannot lend a helping hand or speak words of comfort and sympathy it makes the burden of grief all the harder to bear by the stricken loved ones. While this is true, those who are mourning the loss of their loved one can rest assured that the entire community deeply feels with them the loss that they have sustained and would gladly lend a helping hand if there be an opportunity to do so. She leaves to mourn her death a father, mother, two brothers, Harry and Joe, of Vinton, two sisters, Mesdames Forest Borland an Arthur Borland, both of Oelwein and other relatives and friends. Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at the Marsh home, Rev. C. J. Rose officiating. Interment in our local cemetery. There is another mound to be strewn with flowers above which the summer birds will sing, while loving hands will tenderly care for and keep in order the plot of ground beneath which the form of their loved one has been laid to rest.
