Mrs. O. F. Davis passed away at her home at this place at 1:45 this (Thursday) afternoon, at the age of 86 years. Definite plans for the funeral have not yet been made but is thought will be held on Sunday afternoon.

Eliza Ann Davis was born in Ashtabula county, Ohio, February 20th, 1831, being the eldest of fourteen children born to Artimus K. and Caroline L. Fobes. Mrs. Davis passed away at 1:45 p.m. March 22nd, 1917, at her home in Elkader, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to William B. Hale, of Conneaut, Ohio, February 2nd, 1854. To this union were born two daughters and one son, Caroline I. and Mary F., both of these daughters dying in early years, DeWitt C. being the only remaining child.
William B. Hale died at Jefferson, Ohio, July 31st, 1865. In May, 1866, with her son, she came to Iowa to her father's home, where she made her home until February 15th, 1873, when she was united in marriage to the late Oakley F. Davis, who passed away November 22nd, 1908.
Those left to mourn are her son and his wife, DeWitt C. and Mary A. Hale, with their daughter Grace E., of Elkader; Mrs. Mattie J. Shutter, of Burtrum, Minn.; Mrs. Hannah M. Stearns, of Rapid City, S.D.; her two step-daughters; also six brothers and two sisters, namely: Selva B. Fobes, of Dorset, Ohio; William and R. T., of Hull, Iowa; Edwin, of Glidden, Iowa; Alva, of Cedonia, Wash.; Albert and Mrs. Caroline Lowe, of Le Harpe, Kan.; Mrs. J. K. Thompson, of Rock Rapids, Iowa. Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death, Mrs. Adaline Strong, of Manchester, Iowa, Mrs. Pauline Duntley, of Man_onin, Wis., and three brothers killed in the late war of the rebelion.
R. T. Fobes, of Hull, Iowa, James Wilson, of Wadena, John Davis, of Lima, Albert Fobes, of Volga, and Mr. and Mrs. Probert, of Volga, were present at the funeral, which took place at the late home of the deceased, Sunday, March 25th. Interment was in Hillside cemetery.
