Hines, Hiram J. 1848 - 1909

Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 04 Nov. 1909. Strawberry Point column.

Hiram J. Hines was born Sept. 29, 1848 and died Oct. 20, 1909, aged 61 years and 21 days.

He was married to Martha A. Hines January 18th, 1873.

To this union were born three children, Willard, Clarence and Millard, the last named dying when one and one-half years of age.

Mr. Hines was one of a family of four boys, Cyrus and Thomas living near here, and Calvin, who died at Rock Port, Mo., being the other three. He has also living two half-brothers, Fred and Marion, of Minnesota, and three half-sisters, Rebecca and Mirandy, of Minnesota, and Mary living near Edgewood.

The funeral services were held at the Christian Church, Rev. Mr. Piper preached the service taking for his theme "The Looks of Jesus."

Interment was made at Cox Creek cemetery.
