The sad tidings comes to us of the death at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Larson, in Marion twp., Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, after a short illness with pneumonia, Mrs. J. S. Quam. Her baby, Curtis Blaine, born Aug. 7th, 1909, followed her in death three hours after.

Miss Sophia Peterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Peterson, of St. Olaf, was born April 15th, 1884, in Marion twp. In August, 1906, at Minot, N.D., she married Mr. J. S. Quam, and with her husband located on a farm near Sawyer, N.D. Two weeks ago, with her husband and children, she started for Clayton county, going first to Minneapolis and Rochester seeking medical treatment, but it all proved unavailing.

Mrs. Quam is survived by her husband and little son Jeffery, her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the home of M. C. Larson about 2:00 o'clock. Services to be held at the Norway church. Mrs. Quam will be remembered by many friends in Elkader and all express their sympathy for the beloved family.
